It reminded me on how much of a loser I am for not having one.

There was a post on here proposing the shooting brake rule of "greater space between the front tire and the front door edge than rear door edge to rear tire". That would mean my Rover qualifies, but a Falcon tudor wagon (or bedcapped Ranchero) does not quite. I'm not saying it's a bad rule, but it may need further refinement (say, car body only, no less than .75x the distance).
Also yes, everybody needs a shooting brake, in case you didn't get that.

I've always wanted a shooting brake. If I weld up the rear doors on my Forester, will that count?

As I'm seeing it, the wheel well to door distance is about 5:1 longer in the back than in the front. Not even close. You're going to have to shorten it or make the whole front end waaayyy longer. I'm voting for the second choice + a light roof chop.

Actually, that sounds like a hell of a lot of fun! SWB chopped Forester shooting brake, or else my other favorite, a panel truck.
